Add "move up"/"move down" buttons to the Page Builder blocks
Currently it possible to drag&drop items, but it doesn’t work well with large components - completely unintuitive thing that sometimes even doesn’t work.
Allow to filter similar items by clicking on the Custom Attribute
For example, a user visited a Listing page. He sees some “tag” and would like to see other items with this tag.
Add "Opening Hours" custom attribute type
Currently, it is somewhat solvable by using the “Text” custom attribute, but it doesn’t look good enough.
Add Webhooks
TBD: describe the events & conditions.
Allow to duplicate listings
Subj. Customers who manage listings via MakeADir sometimes need to create listings from another, exiting listings.
Add Airtable integration
Multiple users requested Airtable integration for their directories. For the first iteration, we can focus on one-way sync (Airtable → MakeADir). Support categories & listings sync with a column mapping interface similar to CSV import.
Add translations for on-page labels & texts
hey, I hope you’re doing well. I liked your app but I want to build a directory in turkish language. I’ve seen that If I change site language the texts that I can not change are staying in english. Thanks for your help.
Allow to display categories on the sidebar
Pretty much similar to filters, users might want to see categories on the sidebar to occupy less of the vertical space. It should work like Amazon categories: 1) Parent name/link 2) List of links of the categories on the same level 3) List of links of subcategories of the currently selected one.
Create “events” for listings
One of the popular features is to allow users who submit listings to create “Events” for them. It will allow to enrich directories and make them more useful to end-users.
Add “Share the Page” buttons
Directory admins may want to allow users to share listings / blog posts in social networks just with a couple of clicks.

Enrich listings with AI-written descriptions based on reviews
We can now scrape and display reviews. The next step - make something useful: we can ask AI to analyze reviews and create a business description. TBD: 1) Decide if it should be a standalone field(s) 2) Decide if reviews data should be combined with website data
Add "Upvotes" to listings
Many users are asking about adding more UGC/UG actions. 1) Add “Upvote” to the Listing Page header 2) Display the number of upvotes on the listing cards 3) Add sorting by upvotes number to listing grids, apply default sorting as “most upvoted first” 4) Ask anonymous users to sign up/login once they click the “upvote” button. Just open login/signup pages in a new tab for the beginning.
Create a separate "Search" page
With the addition of search bar to the home page, it became completely unobvious how does the search work. We need either rework the /browse page or create a separate /search page to handle… Search.

Map View for listings grid
Local directories often list real-life businesses. Some cases make it better for end-users to see locations on a map instead of a text list. This also helps to “find near me” cases. Something close to these: Implementation Listing Form The address field should get a “drop a pin on a map” button. If a user didn’t drop a pin, lat & lng are retrieved by address Otherwise, use the dropped pin regardless of the address relevance Search Field in the Hero section The search bar should get the category selector (let’s treat the primary category as a location category) If the category is not selected, ask a user for a location (via browser APIs) Map View Page Should display the relevant listings according to the selected location (if any) Should display a filter bar on the top (similarly to listing grid) If the category is not selected, ask a user for a location (via browser APIs) When a user is allowed to get a location - fetch the “closest” listing, and set the category accordingly to this information (to avoid adding the “address” field to categories).
Add "Claim your listing" button on the listing's page
Visitors may want to take control over their business presence in the directory. We will start with the simplest thing - a lead form asking for First and Last Names, E-Mail address and a message on who they are and why they believe this listing belongs to them.
Allow to remove the /browse prefix
Some directory owners want to see the listings URLs to start with the category name, instead of some generic prefix. It can, theoretically, have a positive effect on SEO.
Add ToS, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy
We need to have: 1) Links to these docs in the footer 2) Some generic backbone that will help getting started creating own versions 3) AI toolbar to help quickly enhance / spellcheck / etc the relevant documents. Ofc, these can be created as standalone content pages, but having something built-in is much better. Also, it will allow to link these docs in various E-Mails, forms, etc, to conform the legal part.
Allow to create redirects
Sometimes users need to restructure directories, move content around, merge content, etc. Redirects help to keep the existing organic traffic.
Provide directories with a default home page
Currently, the default behavior is to display /browse at root of the website. We need to change that. Home page should display: - Hero section with search field and configurable background - Grid of the top-level categories with “show cover image” option set to “true” by default - List of the Collections in form of H2 + Listing Cards + Button “see all” - List of blog posts (probably grouped by Type, similar to Collections display) - Grid of the latest items added to the directory with link to the /browse page - ???
Bring your own Ai api key
Especially on the lifetime deal, the ai credits is hardly anything at all, so would be much better to be able to use my own ai account credits.
Add more built-in fields for CTAs
A customer requested to add YouTube, Twitter and E-Mail fields.
Paywalled listings
Some directories admins want to show only a limited number of listings to public and/or hide some information behind a paywall.
Add Searchbar Widget
That’s pretty obvious - end-users need to be able to search for things they are looking for. Most probably, this widget will be a part of the listing grid with Global Search added later.
