Allow to change the "/browse" prefix

Most of the directories wouldn’t have the “/browse” page browseable (e.g. they wouldn’t have a standalone landing page).

When user did not define a standalone homepage, the /browse redirects to /

It can have negative impact on SEO. Most of the specialists prefer shorter and meaningful urls.

Basically, instead of

/browse/my-category/listing-name

We need to get to

/playrooms/my-category/listing-name

It needs to be decided whether this prefix should be configurable or not.

    Hey, i think that this is my request - just to make sure:

    /browse can stay (just allow us to change that ‘browse’ for something else).

    For example if you have dog parks directory, than it could be:

    url.com/PARKS/chicago/small-park (instead of ‘browse’ user will rename that for ‘parks’).

    and PARKS will be not be just redirect to the main landing page - but rather standalone page url.com/parks (with grid of all dog parks lets say).

    i think it’s clear from my midnight description :)

      Yup, most probably that’s your request. :)

      Today the /browse page is served by default at /

      You can create a custom content page and assign that page to be the index page. This way, /browse will be displayed. :)

      You can see how it works at makeadir.com - I defined a custom content page and set it to be served as an index page (at /), and /browse is served at /browse.

      The reasoning behind this was to help to avoid the “duplicate content” errors on Google Search - back when we didn’t have blog, collections, other rich widgets.

      Most probably, I’ll do this change once I complete this request:

      https://makeadir.featurebase.app/p/allow-to-enrich-the-hero-block-with-searchbar-and-cover

      It will allow to make beautiful home page that will greatly differ from /browse.

      Let’s do then start with your suggestion - allow to rename /browse to /<whatever>.
